NOW I get it!! This preamp is absolutely incredible! It smoked every preamp I had in the house and a couple of other nices ones I borowered! Super quiet, very good knob feel, it oozed quality like nothing else. To bad I did not have a turntable to test that as well. This preamp has to be one of the best kept secrets in the whole preamp world! Not a lot of electronics make their value and sound near as apparent as this preamp does. Its sound (MOSFET finals I am told) is soothing, not at all edgy or forward. Very well balanced with excellent sonic inegrity. You just want to sit around and play it all day long while the house is in flames around you.

If you are in need of a very high quality preamp, and can find the C55 as if dropped from heaven, put a lock on it and make purchase. When you hear this preamp it will make you re-think what a REAL preamp should be doing. I would love to read a proffesional review, somehwere like Hirsh/Houck labs one did, but until then if ever, I want to put out my ramblings for others to consider.

Seriously, this is a unit that should be in the hall of electronic fame. Who would have thought Sanyo ever had a quality arm like this. I will be looking into more Sanyo Plus gear- it is amazing quality sound and still pretty afoardable, at least until the word get out!
